OPAC® Pre-Employment Testing Software
Hogan Personality Inventory

Personality assessment is rapidly becoming a "best practice" for selecting and developing talented employees. OPAC offers online pre-employment and employee development personality testing from Hogan Assessments.

The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) is the industry standard for measuring normal personality; it has a 25-year history of successfully predicting employee performance and helping companies reduce turnover, absenteeism, shrinkage, and poor customer service. It was the first inventory of normal personality based on the Five-Factor Model and developed specifically for the business community. Through an ongoing program of research and development, the HPI continues to be the industry leader. The inventory has several unique features:
  • A business-related measure of normal personality
  • Designed to predict occupational success
  • Useful reports available for selection or development
  • Based on the Five-Factor Model
  • Developed exclusively on working adults
  • Normed on more than 500,000 working adults worldwide
  • Validated on more than 200 occupations covering all major industries
  • No invasive or intrusive items
  • No adverse impact
  • Fully internet enabled
OPAC users have access to the following personality-style assessments (Note: The setup fees typically associated with Hogan testing are waived for OPAC users, but employers must pay a per-test fee for each Hogan Personality report produced):
  • Effective Coaching Report for the Manager (a.k.a. Management Builder Report). The Management Builder Report uses Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) results to highlight the respondent's job-related strengths and development needs, and then provides tips for best managing that individual; as such, it is very effective at facilitating on-boarding and new hire development.
  • Career Development Report. Similar to the Management Builder Report described above, the Career Development Report uses HPI identify general job-related strengths and development needs; however, the intended recipient of the Career Development Report is the respondent him or herself.
  • HPI Interpretive Report. The HPI Interpretive Report provides (a) HPI scale- and subscale scores, (b) a brief description of each scale, and (c) explanation regarding the behavioral implications of each scale score. The HPI Interpretive Report can be generated with or without Occupational Scalescores.
    • The six Occupational Scales, a useful, innovative, and unique component of the HPI, are designed and validated to predict outcomes "related to the performance requirements that are common to many jobs." These scales include:
      • Service Orientation
      • Stress Tolerance
      • Reliability
      • Clerical Potential
      • Sales Potential
      • Managerial Potential.
  • HPI Graphic Report. The HPI Graphic Report provides scale scores in graphic format, but does not contain descriptive information. The HPI Graphic Report can be generated with or without Occupational Scale scores.
